Our Services

What we offer

  • Personalized coaching sessions include an initial assessment, either in Dr. Murphy’s office, by voice or video call, or on the practice range.

Instruction includes time on the practice range, on-course training emphasizing the key points of the mental game, and long-term mental-game strategies, custom drills, and exercises for continued growth and improvement.

  • Dr. Murphy presents workshops for parents, coaches, and athletes on peak performance and mental health.

    Topics include:

    • Working with negative emotions that hinder performance

    • Managing expectations to handle pressure better and play more consistently

    • Habit-changing techniques for better focus and self-talk

    • Building motivation for improved performance

    • Preventing and addressing general mental health challenges

  • Individual psychotherapy with athletes emphasizes the development of self-understanding. Therapeutic interventions are individually tailored to the needs of each client and include insight-oriented and performance-enhancement strategies.

  • Research shows that quality parent-child connections are the foundation for positive developmental outcomes in children. Sessions help parents gain an in-depth understanding of a child’s social-emotional needs, guiding them to improved communication and problem-solving to meet the needs of their young athletes.  Parent sessions are tailored to the individual needs of the clients.

  • A young person’s participation in athletics can either strengthen relationships between family members or place significant strain on those connections. Families participating in family therapy develop the communication skills to address day-to-day conflicts and process challenging emotions. Therapy is also a way to establish developmentally appropriate expectations for the athlete that are more likely to result in their success.

Family therapy helps with the following:

    • Addressing the psychological needs of each family member

    • Balancing athletic, academic, and social demands

    • Clarifying and prioritizing family values

    • Developing collaborative problem-solving skills
